A King And A KingdomHebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Revelation 17:14: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Since Jesus is same yesterday, today and forever, He has always been King of kings, He was King of kings when He was living a holy life on earth, He was King of kings when He was dying on the cross and He is King of kings living in the hearts of believers today.
Receiving Jesus is receiving a King and a Kingdom. It is entering a Kingdom that we were not part of before. It is receiving an authority over us that we did not have before. Jesus* authority over us will be total when we get to Heaven and IT SHOULD BE TOTAL HERE AND NOW. We need to understand the significance of having the King of kings living in us.Mark 10:15: Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
One who has received Jesus into His heart has the King of kings dwelling there. For him there will be a struggle between the King of kings in his heart and his flesh, a struggle between good and evil.Romans 7:18a: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: . . .
A struggle between Christ in him and his flesh is evidence that a man is saved. The absence of that struggle demonstrates one of two things. One . . . he has not received the Jesus who has the authority of a King. Two . . . he has received Jesus but is living as if his flesh is the king of kings and he will have a worse thing come upon him.John 5:14: Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Are you and I living as servants of the King of kings or as servants of our flesh?Romans 6:16: Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
