Abortion Is Wrong Because . . .
Exodus 20:13: Thou shalt not kill.
Whether you believe that thing in a woman*s womb between conception and birth is a baby or not, it is demonstrably alive. It has a heart beat. It has a brain with measurable activity. It has it*s own blood type. (Physicians don*t pull the plug on terminal patients while they have a heartbeat and measurable brain activity.)
Leviticus 17:11: For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Leviticus 17:14a: For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof:
Shortly after conception that tiny little thing has its own blood. I believe that from the moment it has blood it is a living human person. I believe that from the moment of conception it is a living human person.
Intra-uterine surgeries are performed on babies to correct birth defects and other physical abnormalities. Xrays and ultra sound show babies in the womb recoiling when stuck with needles. They obviously feel pain.
Psalms 127:3-5: Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
One presidential candidate said recently that in the event one of his unmarried daughters became pregnant he would not want them punished with a baby. Babies are a blessing. Most little girls love to mother their dolls early in life. My mother went gaga over babies until she was well into her 80s. Becoming a father made me and my life more complete. It was a joy. Having a baby is not a punishment.
Sexual relations are what men and women do. Conception is a miraculous work of God. Birth is a work of God and is scheduled by God. What goes on in the womb between conception and birth is also the work of God. It is sin to destroy that work of God.
Jacob knew that God decided who had children and who did not. His wife Rachel didn*t get it.
Genesis 30:1-2: And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And Jacob*s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God*s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
God promised Abraham a son and then kept His promise. Elkanah and Hannah knew that children were from the Lord.
1 Samuel 1:5-6: But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the LORD had shut up her womb. And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
1 Samuel 1:10-11: And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore. And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
1 Samuel 1:19-20: And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her. Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.
God decided when the time would be right for Jesus to be born just as he decides everyone*s birth date.
Galatians 4:4: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
God sent an angel to tell Zacharias he would have a son and then kept His promise.
Luke 1:13: But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
Luke 1:24-25: And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Paul knew that his birth was the work of God.
Galatians 1:15: But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother*s womb, and called me by his grace,
David claimed to be a person while he was still in his mother*s womb.
Psalms 139:13-16: For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother*s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
The Bible was inspired by God. The Bible called John the Baptist a babe when his mother was 6 months along in her pregnancy. Not only was that thing in Elizabeth*s womb called a babe, it was capable of experiencing joy.
Luke 1:36: And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Luke 1:41-44: And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
Jesus Christ is eternal. He always existed. He will always exist. He existed before His conception. He existed before His Incarnation. Incarnation means that Jesus, who existed before was put into the body of a human being by the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:20: But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
1 Peter 1:18-20: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
John 1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus Christ was The Word.
John 1:14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 17:24: Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
John 17:5: And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Jesus existed before the world was.
Hebrews 7:9-10: And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
Abraham was the great-grandfather of Levi. And yet God said that Levi paid tithes in Abraham when he was yet in the loins of his father. (great grandfather) Levi existed in the loins of Abraham 3 generations before he was born. That shouldn*t blow our minds since we actually existed in the mind of God before He created the world.
Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
We were chosen before God created the world. God knew He was going to create us before He created the world. He knew that we would exist physically in the loins of our ancestors. That shoots down the idea that we did not exist before we are born. When we existed in the mind of God we were non-physical. But ever since Adam we have existed physically in the loins of our ancestors.
We existed in the mind of God and in the loins of our ancestors before our conception. Things that exist in the mind of God are just as certain before He gives them physical existence as they are after He gives them physical existence. He chose us before He created the world. He possessed us everlastingly, before the earth was.
Jeremiah 1:5: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Ephesians 1:4: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Proverbs 8:22-23: The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
We all belong to God. Our bodies belong to God. He created us. That includes the bodies of pregnant women and unborn babies. Destroying something that belongs to someone else is wrong.
1 Corinthians 6:19: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Romans 14:8: For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord*s.
Some mothers of children of rape and incest have deeply loved those children. Some children of rape and incest have been irreplaceable leaders in society and have contributed things to society that no one else could or did.
Simple justice says that if you rob a bank I should not be punished for that crime. Simple justice also says that a baby should not be killed for the sins of its parents. By the way, I would favor capital punishment for abortion doctors. They are serial killers. I would favor capital punishment for Supreme Court Justices and government officials who support abortion. They aid and abet murder. God harshly judged nations that sacrificed their children to idols in Old Testament Times and if He doesn*t judge America He will have to apologize to those nations.
