About Wisdom

The first wisdom an individual can have is to seek the Lord and His salvation. Thereafter the wisest thing he can do is to seek the wisdom of The Wisest Being in existence, the Lord. The oftener he does that the better off he will be. Wisdom knows where to get wisdom. For believers, God*s wisest of wisdom is available for the asking.

James 1:1, 5: James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

That promise was given only to believers. The book of James was written to Israelite believers who were scattered abroad because they were persecuted in Jerusalem.

Proverbs 14:16: A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Proverbs 15:2: The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Proverbs 29:11: A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

Proverbs 15:7: The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

Proverbs 12:15: The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 14:35: The king*s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

Proverbs 18:15: The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

Proverbs 14:8: The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Proverbs 19:8: He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

Proverbs 16:20: He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

Matthew 7:24-27: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

James 3:17: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
