James 4:14: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
No matter how long we live on earth, God calls it a little time. Very few of us will live more than a hundred years on this earth, but we will all spend eternity somewhere. Eternity will never end. Each of us will either spend eternity in God*s paradise or in eternal torment. Every person is headed toward one or the other. It is amazing that individuals can think that a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away is so important and that the vast ocean of eternity is so unimportant.
1 Corinthians 2:14: But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
I am amazed that people can be unable to grasp such important truth, that they can be so foolish. I was a natural man for about the first half of my life but I am still amazed that I was also that ignorant. These truths are revealed by the Spirit of God and I could not receive them. I am so thankful that I received Jesus and He made me a new creature, an unnatural man!! The most important thing that anyone can do during their little time on earth is to receive Jesus and become unnatural men.
If you are saved and understand these things, you should understand that you also were an ignorant natural man. You should dedicate your life to praying that others will receive Jesus, helping them to receive Jesus, supporting ministries that bring people to Jesus and anything else you can think of to spread the gospel. It is amazing that the majority of mankind are in the same desperate hopelessness that you and I were in before we received Jesus.
Matthew 7:13-14: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
To me it is amazing when individuals receive Jesus, but it is even more amazing when they don*t. The Bible only records two things that Jesus marveled about: unbelief and great faith.
Mark 6:6: And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
Luke 7:9: When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
