Are We Humble Before God
When we are humble before God, the first evidence of it is that we will receive Jesus and that should be followed by a lifetime of humility before Him. If we have not humbled ourselves before Him, we have not received Him at all. We need to be humble before God habitually in public, in private and in our hearts. That is what He deserves and it is the attitude we need. We have some wonderful examples of humility in the Bible and if we attend Biblical churches we will have visible examples of humility there as well. Even Jesus humbled Himself before His Father. We must humble ourselves before Him before we die and it is too late to change our eternal destiny.
Psalms 95:6: O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
Ephesians 3:14: For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
bow my knees--the proper attitude in humble prayer. Posture affects the mind, and is not therefore unimportant.
Genesis 17:3: And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, . . .
Luke 22:41: And he was withdrawn from them about a stone*s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
Luke 5:16: And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
Matthew 11:29: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matthew 17:6: And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
Matthew 26:39: And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Luke 18:13: And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
Numbers 12:3: (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
Psalms 22:29: All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
Romans 14:11: For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Isaiah 45:23: I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
Matthew 6:6: But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Acts 20:36: And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
Acts 7:60: And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Acts 21:5: And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
1 Peter 5:6: Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Psalms 51:10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
James 4:7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 5:5: Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
