Bare Minimum Christians
Bare minimum Christians get the bare minimum of the blessings of God. I have tried to be a bare minimum Christian and I don*t recommend it.2 Corinthians 9:6: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Galatians 5:22a: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, . . .
The second item on the list of the fruit of the Spirit is joy. What an awful price to pay for NOT being a whole-hearted Christian filled with the Spirit.Mark 12:30: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Colossians 3:23: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Ecclesiastes 9:10a: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; . . .1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
Revelation 3:15-16: I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Ecclesiastes 12:13: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Westminster Shorter Catechism:
What is the chief end of man? Man*s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
