Bible Doctrine 1 Inspiration
I have been a Christian for about 30 years. Bible doctrine has been taught to me in a rather piece-meal fashion. Pastor Kent McBay prepared excerpts from the Doctrinal Statement of North Mesa Baptist Church that clearly define Bible Doctrine and he provided the relevant passages from the Bible that establish the doctrines. The doctrines of the Christian faith MUST come from the Bible. I plan to provide the doctrines and the passages to you in several articles.
All Scripture is verbally inspired and infallible. The Bible is the Word of God. It does not merely contain the Word of God. The phrase God said appears hundreds of times in the Bible.
2 Timothy 3:16-17: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Peter 1:21: For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 5:18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
1 Corinthians 2:13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man*s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Matthew 4:4: But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
