A Blessing To Others
God wants to be a blessing to others. Satan wants to prevent that. His main method of preventing God*s will is to make us selfish, to want to be a blessing only to ourselves. How is he doing with you in that regard? Do you try to bless others or yourself? Do I try to bless others or myself? It seems to me that those who want to bless themselves rather than others end up being unable to bless even themselves and those whose desire to bless others, are always able to do that. I see multitudes of individuals in nursing homes who are able to bless others in spite of all their physical limitations. I also see many who seem able to bless others but are unwilling to. And I see many who are unable to bless even themselves. I often wonder if their inability to bless themselves is the judgment of God upon them. Those who want to bless others are always able to bless others because God helps them. Those want to bless only themselves will eventually not have God*s help. The essence of Christianity and of love is unselfishness. And that starts with desiring to please God.
Matthew 22:37: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Romans 5:5: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
We are given the Holy Spirit and the love of God in our hearts when we receive Christ.
John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Galatians 4:6: And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
1 John 3:17: But whoso hath this world*s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
Are you loving others or have you not received Jesus?
