The Cause Of Confusion
Ever wonder why otherwise intelligent individuals can be confused about spiritual issues? Unforgiven sin is the cause. Ever wonder why even believers lack understanding? Same reason. Do you want less confusion and more understanding? Repent of your sin, receive Christ, obey Him, study the Bible, attend a church where it is correctly taught, meditate on it and obey it.
Daniel 9:7: O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. 8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
James 3:16: For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Acts 19:28: And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians. 29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul*s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.
Luke 8:35a: Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: . . .
1 Corinthians 14:33: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
2 Timothy 1:7: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Psalms 111:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. 119:34: Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. 73 Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 125 I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies. 130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. 144 The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live. 169 Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.
Proverbs 2:6: For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 3:13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. 12:11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding. 13:15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. 14:29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. 16:16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! 16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. 17:27 He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. 28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. 18:2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. 19:8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. 21:16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. 30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. 28:16 The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
