Christians In Church Grow More

Hebrews 10:25: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Christians who believe they can neglect the most Biblical church they can find, be loners and still be in the will of God are sinning. Their specific sin is pride. Sin stunts our spiritual growth and avoiding church stunts it too. It seems like they don*t want to grow and that they don*t want the best of the Bible.

1 Peter 5:5: Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Christians who avoid church are not submitting themselves to other Christians. They are not being perfected as God wants them to be. They are not working in ministry. They are not being edified. They are not in unity with other Christians. They do not know the Lord as well as they should. They will not experience the fullness of the Saviour as they should. They will be fooled by unbelievers and easily led astray. They will not grow. They harm themselves and the church. The church will not be what God wants it to be if they are not there.

Ephesians 4:11-16: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; (you will find evangelists, pastors and teachers in churches.) 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

One of my deep concerns in writing these articles is that some Christians might believe they are sufficient substitutes for regular church attendance or personal Bible study. THEY ARE NOT.

Acts 17:11: These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

1 Peter 2:2: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

1 Timothy 4:12: Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

We will find the most and best Christian examples in Biblical churches. If Christians avoid church, they will never see the best examples or become good examples themselves. So, do you want to grow?
