Created To Please GodRevelation 4:11: Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Colossians 1:16: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
When we do not fulfill God*s purpose for creating us we ourselves become unsatisfied. Pleasing Him is what He wants and it is what we need. Since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit men have become beings that would rather not please God. In rebelling against God we got out of sync with His purpose for creating us. Our rebellion causes no great problem for God but it causes enormous problems for us.
When we humans create something we normally have a purpose for it. If it does not fulfill our purpose we trash it or we remake it so that it will. When we create something that does not do what we want it to do, we often dismantle that thing and make it again. We own that thing and have every right to do with as we please. It is no different with the Lord. Since He created us, He owns us. When we do not fulfill His purpose for creating us, He has every right to trash us or recreate us. He wants to regenerate mortal men into new creatures that do please Him.2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
New creatures (Christians) need to understand that pleasing the Lord benefits them and many Christians do. This passage will reflect the attitude of an obedient and fulfilled Christian:Psalms 19:14: Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
When something fulfills the purpose for which we created it, we take care of it. When we fulfill God*s purposes for us He also takes care of us.Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
There is no one unhappier than a Christian that does not fulfill God*s purpose for him.
There are many individuals who believe they are Christians, but believe in a Jesus who will not change them. They see no need to be changed. They do not want to be changed. They want to please themselves. Eventually, they will not even be able to do that.Psalms 55:19: God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. Hebrews 11:6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 13:16: But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
When you wonder what to do, try asking the Lord what you can do just then to please Him.
