Delight And Persecution

Delight, joy, pleasures, trials, tribulations and persecution are all part of a faithful Christian*s life.

Psalms 37:4: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Psalms 1:1: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

If you do not delight in the Lord and in His Word you are either not saved or you are a Christian who walks in the counsel of the ungodly and in your flesh.

Galatians 5:22a: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, . . .

Nehemiah 8:10: Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

John 15:11: These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

John 16:24: Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

If you have no joy you are either not saved or you are a Christian who quenches the Spirit, does not give to the poor, is a weak Christian, does not listen to the voice of God and does not pray very much.

Psalms 16:11: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

If you have no pleasure you are either not saved or you are a Christian who does not walk in the path God wants you to and you are not at His right hand.

1 Peter 1:6: Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

If you have had no trials you are either not saved or you are a Christian whose trials have not been more precious than gold.

1 Peter 4:12: Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

If you have had no trials you are either not saved or you are a Christian who thinks that Christians do not have trials.

2 Timothy 3:12: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Although persecution is usually not severe in our culture, if you have not had any persecution, you are either not saved or you are a Christian who is not living as God wants you to live.

Matthew 5:11: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

If you have not had at least some persecution you are either not a Christian or you are a Christian who is not blessed and is not doing anything for Jesus or speaking up for Him.

Romans 8:18: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
