Distasteful Truths About Christianity

A right relationship with the Lord will look different than any human would choose. It will look like God designed it. Unbelievers and immature Christians can find a genuine relationship with the Lord distasteful. A person with a right relationship with the Lord will know that there is great blessing and joy for him in what God wants. A growing believer will find the distasteful truths important and valuable. The more a believer fulfills and experiences the distasteful truths the more he will be blessed and the more mature he will be as a believer. Capitals mine.

James 4:7: SUBMIT yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

1 Peter 4:19: Wherefore let them that SUFFER according to the will of God COMMIT the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye PRESENT your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 6:13: Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but YIELD yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 6:16: Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye OBEY; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

1 Peter 5:6: HUMBLE yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Luke 9:24: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will LOSE his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Matthew 19:21: Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and SELL that thou hast, and GIVE to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and FOLLOW me.

Luke 4:8: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou SERVE.

Titus 3:1: Put them in mind to BE SUBJECT to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

John 10:27: My sheep HEAR my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

2 Timothy 3:12: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall SUFFER PERSECUTION.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18: Wherefore come out from among them, and BE YE SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

1 Peter 5:8-9: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom RESIST stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Philippians 3:10: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, being made conformable unto his death;

Be honest. Do these things appeal to your flesh? Submission, suffering, commitment, present your bodies, yield yourselves, obey, humble yourselves, lose your life, follow Him, serve, be subject, suffer persecution, be separate, resist?
