Feeling Guilty About Sin?
After we are saved we feel terribly guilty when we sin. That guilt is appropriate. But we can get rid of it by confessing and forsaking the sin.
1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Proverbs 28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
When one becomes saved He is justified before God and is given the beginning of a new and eternal life. Although we are justified before God our sins make us feel unjustified. The new life will be one of heart obedience to God. But sometimes our flesh replaces the heart obedience with fleshly disobedience.
Though believers are justified by faith, that does not guarantee that their flesh will not sin again. But for those of us who have received Jesus, He is going to make us perfect at the end. His promise is as good as done.
Romans 3:28: Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 7:18a: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: . . .
Jude 1:24: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Romans 8:30: Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
