Foolish Men Belittle The Great God
Are you one of them? Am I? All of us have belittled God and we cannot break that self-destructive habit without His help. We need to learn, with His help, how we belittle Him and stop doing it.
Psalms 74:22: Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.
I don*t know where the Thomas Nelson Publishers found their definition for reproacheth but I believe it is accurate. It means belittle. We men put one another down. We belittle one another. We disrespect one another. We try to put ourselves above one another. And we do the same things with God.
Sometimes without even knowing it, we belittle God. There are many ways in which we belittle Him. When we don*t obey Him our actions prove our belief that He is not worth obeying. When we do not trust Him we prove our belief that He is not worth trusting. When we think we know best we prove our belief that He does not know best. When we don*t seek His counsel we prove our belief that we are wiser than He is. When we don*t worship Him we prove our unbelief in His greatness. When we don*t study His book, the Bible, we demonstrate our belief that He is not worth listening to. When we don*t seek Him we prove our belief that we don*t need Him.
Revelation 3:17: Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Psalms 86:1: Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Psalms 145:3: Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
Lord, please help us to worship you instead of belittling you!!!
