God Controls Climate
Man can control the climate in his home, his workplace and his automobile, but God controls the climate of the earth. If men have a high opinion of God the Creator they will value the creation He created for them and will do what they can to keep it clean. If they are obedient to the Creator, men will be unselfish. They will not dirty up their little spot in the world and they will not dirty it up for others. They will use the earth as God intended. He created the earth to provide a place for mankind to live and for their benefit.
God has made many promises and keeps them all. He has promised that Jesus will reign on earth for a thousand years. By the way, He also promises that believers will reign with Jesus for those thousand years. He promises that He will destroy this creation and create new Heavens and a new earth. Believers have not yet reigned on earth with Christ for a thousand years and Jesus has not yet reigned on earth for a thousand years so we can expect the world to exist at least another thousand years. Many Christians believe that a seven-year Tribulation period will come before the thousand years. I believe that. We*ll not discuss that issue here but those promises of God mean that the world we live in will be here at least one thousand more years and I believe one thousand and seven. God will then destroy the world. Man will not. It is idolatry and an insult to God to believe that man can cause God to break His promises and permit man to destroy the world ahead of His promised schedule.
Revelation 5:10b: . . . we shall reign on the earth.
Revelation 20:4-6: And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
2 Peter 3:9-14: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Revelation 21:1-2: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
