God Knows EXACTLY What We Need

We want more or less of many things than God wants for us. He measures to each of His children exactly what they need. We want more wealth, more control and more authority for ourselves than are good for us. We naturally want less of what God considers wealth, less of His control and less of His authority.

Exodus 16:16-20: This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. 17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. 18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. 19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. 20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.

When we covet more than God wants us to have of anything, it will breed spiritual worms and it will stink spiritually.

Exodus 16:22-24: And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. 24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.

There are days when the Lord wants us to get enough of what we need to last two days. The Sabbath was their day of rest. God wanted them to know that it was Him that provided what they needed, on days when they gathered it AND on days when they didn*t. Even on days when they disobeyed and gathered less than the prescribed amount, He made it sufficient. He blesses us on days when we serve Him and on days when we rest. He even meets our needs when we fail Him. The days they gathered the manna, the day when they preserved the manna and the day when they rested were God*s wise plan. We need to serve Him on the right days, conserve what He wants us to conserve and rest when He wants us to rest.

Most days the first spiritual things that I do are to pray and study my Bible. There are nights that the Lord gives me a thought that I must write about first thing in the morning. Most of the time He wants me to absorb things from Him and some of the time He wants those things to come out of me. I feel like if they don*t come out of me I will explode. He sometimes stores things up in me in past days for today.

Exodus 16:31: And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

Exodus 16:33-34: And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations. 34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.

When we have the right amount at the right time of the things that God wants us to have THEY WILL TASTE LIKE HONEY AND THEY WILL LAST. Lord, please give us exactly what we need!!
