His Commandments Are Not Grievous
1 John 5:3: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Deuteronomy 5:33: Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
2 Timothy 3:16-17: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
There is nothing that can correct us like the Bible. If the Bible does not correct us, we will not be what God wants us to be. If the Bible does not correct us, we will not be equipped and able to do good works. If the bible does not correct us, we will not be fruitful, blessed, joyful, peaceful or content. From the cradle to the grave, we will be living in a fleshly body. There is no mortal that does not need God*s correction. His correction is a blessing!
Proverbs 22:15: Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Proverbs 23:13: Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Proverbs 3:11: My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
Refusing God*s correction leads to disaster.
Proverbs 15:10: Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
Jeremiah 2:30: In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
Jeremiah 5:3: O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
Jeremiah 7:28: But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
Zephaniah 3:1-2: Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! 2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
I believe will beneficial for us to ask the Lord to use the Bible to correct us before we study it.
