How To Be Unsatisfied
The answer is to be unlike Jesus, to sin and to not seek God*s forgiveness. We were created in the image of God but we dirtied up His image when we sinned.
Genesis 1:26: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
God*s final plan for us is that we will be like Jesus forever and He gives us an opportunity to be a little bit like Him here and now. But of course, His likeness in us won*t as complete now as it will be when we get to Heaven.
Psalms 17:15: As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
1 John 3:2: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
When we receive Jesus into our hearts and lives we become a little like Him.
John 9:5: As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Ephesians 5:8: For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
1 Peter 1:16: Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Romans 8:29: For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
John 14:21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
When we receive Jesus, love Him and obey Him, He manifests Himself to us. We see Him more as He is than we could before and we become more like Him. The more we study and obey the Bible, the less we will sin and the more we will see Him as He is and the more we will become like Him.
Psalms 119:11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Proverbs 19:23: The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
Psalms 37:18: The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. 19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Selfishness, greed, laziness and idolatry will never satisfy anyone. Neither will any other sin.
Isaiah 56:10: His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. 11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
Ecclesiastes 5:10: He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
Proverbs 20:13: Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
Ezekiel 16:28: Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
