If You Are Strong
If you are a strong Christian or if you are a Christian at all, you must NEVER believe that those things are your own doing or the doing of any other mortal man.
Psalms 34:18: The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalms 80:17: Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
Psalms 89:20-21: I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: 21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.
Isaiah 10:15: Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
Isaiah 40:29-31: He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 64:8: But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
Romans 9:21: Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
2 Corinthians 12:9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Are we willing to be servants? Are we willing to be just an axe, a saw or a staff? Are we willing to be clay or a vessel of honor? Are we willing to be in Christ? Are we willing to be new creatures? Are we willing to be what God wants us to be? Are willing to be strong and fight for Him instead of for ourselves?
1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
There are several hymns and spiritual songs with these wise words: Make Me What You Want Me To Be.
