Isolated From Love

Jude 1:21: Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

There is only one person in the world that can keep me from the love of God. That person is me. And there is only one person in the world that can keep you from the love of God. That person is you. We get into the love of God by receiving Jesus and we keep ourselves in the blessings of it by keeping ourselves in His will.

Romans 8:35-39: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We isolate ourselves from the love of God by rejecting Jesus. After receiving Him, we deprive ourselves of the blessings of His love by avoiding and rejecting His Word, the Bible. If we do not study it, we will not learn about it and we will not learn how to experience it. We deprive ourselves of the blessings of God by avoiding the individuals who have it and express it, His children. We deprive ourselves of the blessings of God by avoiding churches where the love of God happens. We deprive ourselves of the blessings of God by attending unbiblical churches where the love of God does not happen.

We should desire all of the love of God that we can get. We can never have too much of it. Many believers seem to want only a little bit of it here and there, a little bit now and again. They quench the Holy Spirit. They quench love. They quench blessings. Unbelievers resist Him all the time. They isolate themselves from the love of God altogether.

1 Peter 1:3-5: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

If we are willing we can be kept in the love and blessings of God by the power of God.

Isaiah 59:2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

The passage says your iniquities, not someone else*s iniquities. Our sin can separate between us and the blessings of our loving God.

Proverbs 28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Jude 1:21: Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

The love of God is merciful and His mercy is loving. The fruit of the Spirit is love. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we are filled with love. Are you filled with the Holy Spirit and with love? Do you isolate yourself from individuals who are filled with the Holy Spirit and with love?

Keep in mind that He loves His own even when He is chastening them. Even His chastening is a blessing.

Hebrews 12:6: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
