Loners

Are you a loner? If so, why? Loners do not permit others to love them and they do not love others. They do not learn from others how to love. They miss the joy and blessings of being loved and of loving others. They reject the things that they need the most. They seem to hide themselves from love and from loving. Love is supposed to grow and abound but for them it does not.

2 Corinthians 8:7: Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

Philippians 1:9: And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

1 Thessalonians 3:12: And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:

Many hospitals have ladies that come in and love and cuddle new-born babies. Medical research proves that babies that don*t receive enough love get sick and some actually die. That kind of starvation is at least as painful as being starved for food. I know people of all ages who have cut themselves off from love. Some of them have withered away and died premature deaths.

Many loners avoid love because they want to control people and cannot. The benefits of love far outweigh the benefits of controlling others. When we love others and are unselfishly thinking of their needs, we will not be hurt by their lack of love for us. If we love them unselfishly, they might even learn to love us back. If we love them unselfishly we will not be expecting anything for ourselves.

If individuals reject love, they often create a vacuum in their souls that will be filled by the poison of hate. Love can grow and hate can grow. If you are a loner you are starving yourself of the things you need the most and you are starving others of the things they need the most.

Have you learned that the things you need the most are to love and to be loved? God created us with those needs. Are you ready and willing to come out of your shell? God will help you.
