Some time ago I had the joy of hearing a gentleman receive Christ. A moment later he said something like this: The Lord tied up some loose ends for me. What he said excited my heart and convinced me that the Lord had done a work on his heart. Though what he said excited my heart, neither of us knew how Biblical it was. Neither of us knew that the same Holy Spirit that inspired scripture inspired him to say what he did.
I love the similar thing that Abigail said about David and what she said about his enemies.
1 Samuel 25:29: Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling.
The first time I found that passage after I became saved it gave me great joy. I realized it was true of me too. I believe that the Lord bound that gentleman who received Christ in the same bundle of life as David. I believe that the Lord binds all of us who receive Jesus into that same bundle of life. The moment we receive Him we are bound in eternal life.
The enemies of David, our enemies and the enemies of Christ will God sling out. They are not bound in the bundle of life.
