Make Time With God A Habit

What sort of habits do you have? I have more bad ones and useless ones than good ones. The habit of spending time with Him would please the Lord greatly. Time spent with God will help us to break a lot of sinful or useless habits. The little hourly beep on a wristwatch could be a reminder to give the Lord some time, but I can*t hear the beep anymore. Now I would need a gong or a cuckoo clock. Since those things are not practical I ask the Lord to get my attention whenever He wants it. If you watch TV which you shouldn*t do very much of and perhaps not at all, you might use the commercials as a reminder to give some time to the Lord. Instead of being aggravated at how often and how many commercials there are you could be blessed by giving some time to the Lord. A commercial is a good time to turn it off anyway. Sometimes I use the on button of the remote control as a reminder to spend time with Him, rather than pushing that button. Turning the Lord on and being turned on by Him is more satisfying. Saves some electricity too. The more reminders you put in your life to spend time with Him the better.

Acts 3:19: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Psalms 16:11: Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalms 37:4: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

What a shame that we know so little of how to enjoy time spent with the Lord. What a waste of refreshing, joy, pleasures and delights.
