From the cradle to the grave a multitude of miracles happen to us. We don*t think of them as miracles because they happen to all of us. Many of them happen to us at similar times of life. We take them for granted and don*t recognize that a faithful, logical and orderly God has done them.
When we get to be six, seven or eight years old we lose our baby teeth. It happens to all of us. I don*t know why the Lord does that since most other body parts just grow and we never lose them. We get by pretty well without them until they are replaced. Perhaps God*s reason for that event is that our mouths are small before that age and need bigger teeth later. He has not seen fit to cause our teeth to grow as rapidly as other organs. What a Great God!
Growth is a miracle. Our feet grow, our legs get longer, hands get bigger, arms get longer, spine and trunk get longer and the muscles get bigger and stronger to support the larger size of our bodies. The skin grows and stretches to cover it all. All the while the internal parts grow to match. Our nerves, veins, arteries bones, digestive system, hearts and lungs all grow at a matching pace. God coordinates all of that. I must grant you that it sometimes doesn*t appear to be a seamless growth in an ungainly teenager. But most of us get through that phase. What a Great God!
During puberty the most noticeable changes take place and they happen more suddenly. Voices change, body shapes and functions change. The girls become more attractive to the boys and the girls notice that. God causes chemical changes in our bodies that accelerate the events of puberty. Hormones begin stampeding around our in bodies. It seems to take seven or eight decades for that process to slow down in many individuals. It doesn*t completely stop until we die. The girls seem to get ahead of the boys in that process in the preteens and early teens but the boys catch up. What a Great God!
The differences between males and females are miraculous. God creates things in the females that turn the males on and vice versa. (I don*t understand what there is about me or any man that turns women on but it happens.) God matches up things in the opposite sexes that cause a lifetime of desire and attraction. There is a bond between a husband and a wife that can exist in no other relationship. A marriage relationship that may start off as only a physical attraction can become a hundred-fold bond. Breaking the bond destroys a part of both individuals no matter how troubled the marriage is or was. Without that bond there is restlessness, aimlessness, selfishness and less purpose to a life. If things are done God*s way in a marriage and only in a marriage life is immeasurably better. What a Great God!
Genesis 2:18: And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
1 Corinthians 11:9: Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
1 Peter 3:7: Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
1 Corinthians 7:3: Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
Ephesians 5:25: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Matthew 19:6: Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
The way that God has created women matches and fits with the needs of men and vice versa. Neither sex is quite as complete without the other. Whenever marriage doesn*t work the way God intended sin is the cause. What a Great God!
