Not A Spectator Sport
Christianity is not a spectator sport. We can watch Christians be Christians but watching them does not make us one of them. It is something that we must participate in ourselves. We must receive Jesus for ourselves. Many do not want to watch Christians being Christians. They don*t go to church because that is the main place where they will see Christians being Christians. Since I received Jesus, I love to watch Christians be Christians. I love to go to a Biblical church. If you don*t love to watch Christians be Christians you are either not a Christian or you are a foolish one. When you are a Christian you will thank God for other Christians, having the privilege of watching them live, you will love them, you will long to be with them, you will enjoy fellowship with them and the world will know that you are Jesus* disciples.
Colossians 1:3: We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, 5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; 6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: 7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; 8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 1:2: We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. 9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Romans 1:11: For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
1 John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
John 13:35: By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Galatians 6:10: As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Do you thank God for other Christians, do you love them, do you long to be with them, do you fellowship with them and does the world know you are Jesus* disciple? Or do you avoid them?
