PREPARE To Serve The Lord

Serving the Lord is sometimes a spur of the moment thing. But most often it is something that requires preparation, inconvenience and even some hard work. The Lord opens and closes the doors. Preparation, inconvenience and hard work are not closed doors. They do not lock you out. When I was a lad, the Boy Scout motto was be prepared. They obviously got that from the Bible. Preparation, inconvenience and hard work are the unseen part of the service. Preparation, inconvenience and hard work are like the iceberg. The service is like the tip of the iceberg. Preparation is what you most often do when you are alone with God. When you are properly prepared for it, He will sometimes bring your service out of the closet and into view.

1 Peter 3:15: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Matthew 3:3: For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Proverbs 16:1: The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

If He wants you to be a missionary to China, you will need to learn the language.
If He wants you to teach a Bible class, you will need to study the Bible.
If you want to serve God, you will have to ask Him what He wants you to do.
If He wants you to play the piano in church, you will have to learn to play the piano.
If He wants you to sing a solo in church, you will have to practice.
If you are going to serve the Lord, you will have to pray much.
