Recreated To Serve
Our flesh wants to go its own way and serve itself. Serving God and others is repugnant to our flesh. Becoming a Christian means becoming a servant of God and of others. There is no enduring joy in serving self. If you look around with your eyes open you will notice that the happiest people you will ever see are serving God and others. And you will notice that the most miserable individuals you know are serving self. If you are wise you will become aware that you have the most satisfaction when you are serving God and others. I am more alive when I am serving God than at any other time. Notice that is true of you and your life too. Sheep go astray. They go their own way. Christians begin going God*s way. If they are wise they will stay at it and be greatly blessed.
Isaiah 53:6: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Psalms 119:176: I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.
1 Peter 2:25: For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
1 Thessalonians 1:9: For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
Hebrews 9:14: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Psalms 100:2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Romans 6:16: Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Galatians 5:13: For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
