Salvation Requires POWER

Romans 1:16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Try to imagine the power it took to create a man*s body out of a pile of dust. Then try to imagine the power it took to breathe life into that body.

Genesis 2:7: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Try to imagine the power it took to create a woman from one rib taken out of the man.

Genesis 2:21-22: And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

Try to imagine the power it took to use the bodies of Adam and Eve in the process of creating billions of others.

Try to imagine the power it took for Jesus to lay down his life and take it again.

John 10:18a: No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.

Try to imagine the power it would take to take a mortal man and make him into a new creature.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Try to imagine the power it takes to change sinners like us into children of God.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Try to imagine the power it takes to put life in one who is spiritually dead.

Ephesians 2:1: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Try to imagine the power it takes to purify a heart that is deceitful and wicked.

Jeremiah 17:9: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Acts 15:8-9: And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Try to imagine the power it takes to forgive our sins.

Luke 5:24: But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

Try to imagine the power it would take to remove a man*s sin as far as the east is from the west.

Psalms 103:12: As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Try to imagine the power it would take to resurrect a man from the dead and give him a body that will live forever.

John 11:25: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

John 17:1-2: These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
