Saved From Future Sin

Believers are saved from future sins in more ways than they were saved from past sins. When individuals become saved their past sins are forgiven but it is too late for them to be undone or prevented. They are saved from future sins because now the Lord*s help is available to avoid temptation and sin. Sins that believers avoid in the future don*t have to be undone, prevented forgiven. God wants to lead us through the minefield of sin and He is able to do that.

1 Corinthians 10:13: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Matthew 6:13: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Psalms 119:163: I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.

He helps us to avoid future sin by showing us what wretched sinners we really are. Before we became believers we thought we were good enough.

Romans 7:24-25: O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

They are saved from future sin because they learn that righteousness is the gift of God and that all they could have produced without Him was wickedness.

Romans 5:17: For if by one man*s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

They are saved from future sin because when they fall into it His forgiveness is freely available. This safety net of forgiveness and cleansing was never available to them before they became children of God.

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

They are saved from future sin because He promises to keep them by His power, not by their own power to avoid sin.

1 Peter 1:5: Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

They are saved from future sin because God wants to replace it with good works and He makes us new creatures willing to do the good works.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

They are saved from future sin because when they walk with the Lord they will not sin.

Galatians 5:16: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

They are saved from future sin because the condemnation for it has been removed.

Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

They are saved from future sin because it will no longer have dominion over them.

Romans 6:14: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

They are saved from future sin because the Lord directs their steps and will keep them from falling as far or as completely as they did before.

Psalms 37:23-24: The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
