Simple And Easy
Matthew 11:28-30: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
When we first become Christians God makes it simple and easy. Much like a mother makes it easy for a helpless new-born baby. She knows what the baby needs. God knows what we need in every phase of our Christian growth. The baby has growing pains. Christians have growing pains. The baby gets teeth so he can chew and digest his food. We get teeth so we can chew on spiritual food (the Bible) and digest it. Life gets complicated when the baby starts walking around and getting into trouble. Same way for Christians. Life gets even more complicated when the baby grows up, moves out and lives his/her own life. A wise mother will have taught the baby enough to handle the complicated life. Same way for Christians. As I look back I see God*s hand providing, guiding and preparing. The mother*s presence, guidance and wisdom become unavailable. Perhaps she didn*t know everything the baby needed after all. Eventually the baby doesn*t need her. God*s presence, provision and guidance increase as the need for them increases. They are always available when needed. He is the Master Planner and Guide. Once in a while a mother messes up. God never does. Sometimes a baby cries and thinks that his mother is not doing her job and meeting his need. Do you ever believe that about God? He*ll even forgive that.
Seems like there were some Biblical babies mentioned in the Bible too.
1 Corinthians 3:2: I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Hebrews 5:12: For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
1 Peter 2:2: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Trust Him! He is and provides everything that we need.
2 Peter 1:3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Ephesians 4:10-15: He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
