Stablished

Stablished! What a wonderful word! It is wonderful because it speaks of the work of God upon those who have become His children by receiving Jesus (John 1:12). He stablishes them in Christ, anoints them, seals them and places the Holy Spirit in their hearts. What incredible and eternal accomplishments those are!! Even though He has stablished us, we can build some wrong things on some wrong foundations. He not only establishes us perfectly as Christians, He keeps us established through our imperfect present and He will establish us perfectly in Heaven in the future. We cannot mess up God*s beginning work, His continuing work or His finished work. Out of gratitude for His rock-solid saving work in the past, keeping work in present and perfecting work in the future, we should do our best not to mess up the present.

The past:

2 Corinthians 1:21: Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Ephesians 1:6: To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

The present:

Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

1 Peter 1:1a, 2a, 5 : Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the . . . 2 Elect . . . 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Corinthians 3:11-15: For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man*s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man*s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man*s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man*s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The future:

Colossians 1:21-22: And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Jude 1:24-25: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and (able) to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
