Stingy With The Bible
2 Corinthians 9:6: But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Luke 8:11: Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
The Bible is the most valuable seed we possess. Sowing it bountifully guarantees a great harvest. If we sow the Word of God bountifully in our own hearts, minds and lives, it will bring a bountiful harvest in our own lives. If we sow it bountifully in the lives of others, it will bring forth a bountiful harvest in their lives.
2 Timothy 4:2: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
A friend recently told me that ninety percent of the problems of a Christian he knew were caused by his unsaved wife. I believe one hundred percent of his problems were brought upon himself because he had sown the Word of God sparingly in his own life. He hasn*t been attending church regularly and is apparently not studying the Bible for himself either. I believe that he has not been sowing the Word of God bountifully in the life of his wife either.
I also believe that one hundred percent of my own problems are brought upon myself when I sow the Word of God sparingly in my own life and in the lives of others.
Jeremiah 20:9: Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
I believe that sowing the Word of God sparingly will not just be as a burning fire in our bones, it will be as a burning fire in our lives.
