Streams In The Desert
Isaiah 35:6: Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
Acts 3:19: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Many of us live in a desert. Some of us live in what is more like an oasis and only venture out into the desert occasionally. While there is beauty in the desert it is a hard place to live. Some get lost out there. Some even perish out there.
When we get out of fellowship with God we live in a hard place, a sinful place. We might compare it with a spiritual desert. Sometimes we are in that place for a long time. Some Christians seem to spend all of their lives there. Being out of fellowship with God is like being in a spiritual desert and a place without God*s refreshing. There is no beauty there. Thankfully, He wants Christians who get into that desert to wake up and return to the spiritual oasis, the refreshing of His presence. Like the prodigal*s father, He wants us to come back to His blessing and stay there.
