Things You Should Know
There is a wealth of wonderful things they possess that many Christians don*t even know about. What a waste. So what*s the problem? Many of them settle for just the beginnings of knowledge and wisdom. The less they know the Lord the less they know about the wonderful things. The better they know the Lord the more they know of the wonderful things and the more they can spend them.
1 Corinthians 12:1: Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Peter 1:2-3: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
So how do we get to know the Lord and then get to know Him better?
Receive Jesus into your heart. You will get to know Him just by doing that that one thing. That will give you the beginnings.
Psalms 111:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Proverbs 1:7: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Decide to obey the Lord.
Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Read your Bible.
2 Timothy 3:16-17: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Remember that the same God that worked all those miracles in the Bible is the same God that you have to do with. Those men He used weren*t supermen any more than you are.
James 5:17: Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
We mortals are no different today than the mortals were thousands of years ago. Neither has He changed.
Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
