Unforgiven Sinners Destroy Themselves

It has been said that the moment we are born we begin to die. Until they receive Jesus and are forgiven of their sins, unbelievers have a nature that destroys them. By their own sin they destroy themselves. The ultimate sin, rejecting Jesus, keeps them trapped in a continual spiritual death until they die physically. People are destroying themselves all around us.

2 Peter 2:15-16: And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Deuteronomy 9:12: And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.

Proverbs 8:36: But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

James 1:22: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Jude 10-11: But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

2 Timothy 2:24-25: And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Matthew 15:17-18: Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

James 3:6: And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

1 Corinthians 6:18: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

2 Peter 2:12-14: But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

Proverbs 29:24: Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

1 Timothy 5:6: But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

Jeremiah 13:23: Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

The only way to escape our self-destructive nature is to receive Jesus. He gives us new natures and makes it possible for us to defeat our self-destructive old natures.

2 Corinthians 5:17a: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: . . .

Galatians 5:16: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

1 Corinthians 9:27a: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: . . .
