What Do You Think

Do you think what God wants you to think or do you think what Satan wants you to think? Those are the only two choices.

2 Corinthians 10:5: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Psalms 19:13-14: Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Proverbs 16:3: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Individuals that do not serve the Lord think what Satan wants them to think. The thoughts of individuals that serve the Lord are established. They think what God wants them to think.

Romans 12:1-3: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Commit thy works unto the Lord and present your bodies to Him and He will straighten out your thoughts. The first think He will straighten out in your thought life is that you will think soberly and you will not think too highly of yourself. Along with that, you will begin to value the thoughts of God. You will want to know what He thinks and you will want to think what He thinks and act on what He thinks.

Psalms 139:17: How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

Psalms 94:11: The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Isaiah 55:8-9: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 12:5: The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

Proverbs 15:26: The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Proverbs 21:5: The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

Isaiah 55:7: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

We tend to think that we are not accountable for what we think. Or that God does not know or care about what we think. Not so. We can*t get away with sinful thoughts any more than we can get away with sinful deeds. We can hide our thoughts from others but we cannot hide them from God.

Psalms 139:2: Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Numbers 32:23: But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

The good news is that my sinful thought life and yours can be forgiven and corrected.

Mathew 12:31a: Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: . . .
