What Is Spiritual Growth

John 3:30: He must increase, but I must decrease.

Spiritual growth is being more dependent upon the Lord than we were in the past.
It is being more dependent upon the His Word than we were in the past.
It is being more dependent upon prayer than we were in the past.
It is seeing things from God*s perspective more than we did in the past.
It is thinking about Him more than we did in the past.
It is seeking and obeying His guidance more than we did in the past.
It is agreeing with Him more than we did in the past.
It is loving Him more than we did in the past.
It is pleasing Him than we did in the past.
It is obeying Him more than we did in the past.
It is being less dependent upon ourselves than we were in the past.

Our flesh will fight it. It is sometimes painfully slow. We can*t always measure it. The most important things about spiritual growth are all about God. I am too often in the remedial class. The results of spiritual growth will be an altogether different list. That list will grow as well.

John 3:8: The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Author unknown:

I am not what I should be, but thank God, I am not what I used to be.
