Where Is Our Time
Matthew 6:21: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
May I suggest that our time is one of our greatest treasures, and perhaps your only treasure. Other treasures can be won and lost and won again. But when time is gone it is gone. To the extent that our hearts are with the Lord, our time will be with Him too.
Mark 7:6: He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Isaiah 29:13: Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
Proverbs 23:7: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
A great way to examine our relationship with the Lord and the condition of our hearts is to consider how much time we spend with Him and doing what He wants us to do. He wants us to spend much time meditating on Him, studying the Bible, praying, obeying and serving Him.
Psalms 46:10a: Be still, and know that I am God: . . .
Philippians 4:8: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I am ashamed to tell you how many times I have learned and relearned that the TV squeezes God out of my mind and my time.
Acts 3:19: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Nothing can refresh us as much or as well as being right with God and spending time with Him, worshipping Him and doing His will. He is never too busy to spend time with us. Are too busy to spend time with Him? If we believe that He is worth it we WILL spend much time with Him.
Psalms 34:1: I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 62:8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. 106:3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times. 119:20 My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
Proverbs 17:17: A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
