Without God Nothing Makes Sense

John 3:30: He must increase, but I must decrease.

God is the most important being that exists. His powers are the most important powers. His wisdom is the most important wisdom. His plans are the most important plans. His activities are the most important activities. He gave us our lives. He gave us everything in our lives. He is relevant to everything in our lives. He is the greatest and only relevance. And yet we ignore Him and try to leave Him out of our lives. We try to make ourselves more important and Him less important or not important at all.

If it weren*t for Him we wouldn*t even have the tiniest little molecule of muscle in one little finger, much less an entire body. We wouldn*t have one drop of blood, much less a body full of it. We couldn*t have a single thought if He didn*t give us a brain. We couldn*t see anything if He didn*t make that possible. If it weren*t for Him we wouldn*t have a moment to live and breathe.

Growing as a Christian happens best when one*s sense of self-importance shrivels up and his sense of God*s importance increases.

God is the only necessity and what He provides are the only necessities. Knowing these things, living as if we know them and letting Him know that we know them is the essence of worship.

As things get farther from us they look smaller. We should try to look at ourselves from a million miles away. As things get closer they look bigger. We should try to look at God as closely as we can. And we ought to look at Him as closely as possible through magnifying glasses and microscopes.

Psalms 34:3: O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Job 36:24-29: Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. 25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off. 26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. 27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: 28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly. 29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

Psalms 69:30: I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Ezekiel 38:23: Thus will I (the Lord) magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Luke 1:46: And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

Psalms 48:1a: Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised . . .

Without Him nothing makes sense. With Him everything makes sense.

1 Corinthians 14:33: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

2 Timothy 1:7: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Without Him you don*t have the beginning point of anything, the goal or the middle. You are floating in spiritual limbo. You are between nothing and nothing. You have come from nowhere, you are nowhere and you are going nowhere. Without Him you are empty and with Him you are full. Without Him you have nothing and with Him you have everything.

The bigger God is in your life the easier it is for you to know that you are a Christian and for others to see and believe it.
