Without The Bible 2
We are in desperate need of the Bible and we never outgrow that need. Do you know it? If you are reading this, the Bible is available to you. Are you available to the Bible?
John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Have you noticed that the Bible provides the building blocks for the Christian life?
Isaiah 28:10: For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Without the here a little, and there a little from the Bible we will never have the knowledge God wants to give us and we never have the more abundant life that He wants to give us. Without the Bible we are hopeless and helpless.
Psalms 1:1: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Without the Bible men cannot come to saving faith.
Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Without the Bible believers will not grow.
1 Peter 2:1: Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
Without the Bible men will not be free from the snares of the Devil.
John 8:32: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Without the Bible believers will not be set apart (sanctified).
John 17:17: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Without the Bible believers will be less noble, especially on those days when we neglect it.
Acts 17:11: These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Without the Bible men will not see the path they should walk on.
Psalms 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Without the Bible sin will be automatic and unavoidable.
Psalms 119:11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Without the Bible we will not have the correction that we so desperately need.
2 Timothy 3:16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
