Your Comfort Zone
This spiritual nugget was provided by my Pastor Kent McBay of North Mesa Baptist church.
Today I have been thinking about the changes we often face in life. For the most part we do not like major changes in life. We tend to be creatures of habit and enjoy things remaining relatively the same in our lives. When we make changes we have to step outside of our comfort zone and get acquainted with something new or different.
Since I was eighteen years old my life has been filled with change. I won*t bore you with the details but God has led me outside of my comfort zone many times. I have learned that true comfort is not obtained through keeping things the same in my life, but by being in the will of God where He wants me to be. When I have responded to God, by following Him in faith, He has always provided what I needed.
I don*t know what you are facing in life at this moment, but I am certain the Lord does. He may be leading you to a place outside the bounds of comfort for you. If so, follow God by faith and embrace the changes that lie ahead. Change is inevitable in all our lives, but our Lord has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. As long as you are following the Lord, He will meet your needs and give you peace to face the change.
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
